The Matrix Tries to Keep You Forgetting Who You Are
The matrix has been curated so well to distract us that we need to constantly remind ourselves that we are not stuck in this small world with no possibilities. As I am going through the different phases of my journey I have to remind myself that I have accomplished and experienced a lot in this life. For me, I could verbally tell myself every day that and it will still not resonate the way it is supposed to. I need to visually see all that I have accomplished because then that will trigger the memories that will then bring the feelings. Once I feel the feelings from those memories I then use that energy to fuel my journey. It sounds like something out of a science fiction book and I can’t really explain it. All that I can confirm is that it works.
When Looking Back Is Healthy (And When It Isn’t)
When we receive advice sometimes you hear the phrase “leave the past in the past” or “never look back” and in cases that have negative experiences that trigger you in the worst way, please never look back at those. If you do you that will bring up the negative emotions that you felt in those moments and then boom, you are now feeling depressed. So in the context of looking back in the past, do it if it is a positive experience. Look at those old Facebook memory posts, scroll through your instagram feed , browse your YouTube videos, or get lost in your photo albums. No matter where you go you will find an experience that will remind you all that you have accomplished.
Success Changes When You Start Evolving
Sometimes when we are moving so fast towards our goal we forget everything else that we accomplished along the way. Hustle culture has been romanticized to us because they want to believe that is the only way that we will achieve real success. 1 year in my own personal journey, I’ve realized that the definition of successful is constantly changing for me. The change happens when I usually rediscover something odd or cool about myself, lately I’ve accepted the fact that my end goal has to be generalized until I feel as though I know for sure what it is that I want for my life. Slowing down will help you express gratitude to yourself after you review everything you have completed in life, thus far. I know when I revisit everything that I accomplished in my 20s I barely recognize the person that I stare at in the photos. I’m not that far removed from my 20s but yet it stills so far away from me, I don’t miss the person I use to be because the surface appeared to be well but the internal part of me was a mess. Now that my internal is where is it is supposed to be I need to now allow the external to match. It sounds like an easy task but it is not, I feel as though I am trying to create a new identity and we all know how hard that can be. I am constantly revisiting old photos for inspiration or even a clue on how to create this new person so it will match the internal part of me.
Motherhood Doesn’t End Fun — It Redefines It
When you go through a drastic life change such as becoming a mother it is hard to have real fun. Especially if you are a single parent, fun without kids rarely is in your vocabulary. Although I was younger I have to remind self all the fun that I had prior to becoming a mom. I found myself on reviewing snapchat memories that literally made me say “WTF” out loud LOL. I was outside living but it was not as authentic to my true self. Now that I am mother I have to consider my child before I make any decision in my life so I can’t be as free spirited as I was before. I ponder on the question if I can be a free spirit in the way that I want to be but with a child? And after some deep thought, the answer is simply yes. The fun I had in my 20s was heavily influenced by whom I was around, now I wasn’t out side committing crimes LOL I just know that it wouldn’t have been my first choice. I’m a very adaptable situation and I will try to make the best out of any situation and I almost always happy at the end of the experience, so I have no regrets. When I ask myself what is it that I truly want to do in life that will bring me happiness, I can also experience it with my child and it would have a positive impact on her life. My version of fun looks like traveling to experience different cultures, talking to people to figure out their take on aliens, reading books, exploring nature, and so much more. I have curiosity that I love to follow and I want my daughter to know it is okay to follow hers. In my world, curiosity will not kill the cat.
Create a “Proof of Life” Album
Curate something in your notes app or an album of on your phone of all the best memories you have made in your life, so far and then set a reminder to look at that album 1-3 a times or every day. Life is actually fun no matter what level you are at, there is beauty to be seen in all area’s life. I have been through the lowest of experiences where I had no choice but to recognize the hidden beauty around me. Don’t let this matrix trick you into believing that there are no other possibilities when it comes to your life. You don’t have to work a job you hate for 20 years only then to retire and be able to only to enjoy the last 10-15 years of your life. You will have to put in some work to break out of the matrix but if you want it bad enough the universe will have no choice but to serve it up to you. Always remind yourself that you can do anything you put your mind to followed with action.
Life Is a Stage — Don’t Take It Too Seriously
My last piece of advice would be to not take life too seriously all of this is a stage, it’s not our last stop in the journey of our soul. Earth is a place whether you will evolve or repeat your lessens until you fully understand. When you remove the lens that makes us view life in a serious way, you will find that everything is not what it seems and it is in your best interest to have fun. We only have a limited time on this planet so you might as well make the most of the experience. Take that trip, try that new food place you have saved in your notes, and don’t be afraid to go to that concert alone. Let your heart and your soul lead you to where you are supposed to be, you don’t need anyone else’s input but your own. You will be alright no matter where you end up, your spiritual team will make sure of it!
Let’s chat in the comments, how are you having fun in life?
