Intro
As someone who is starting to see the real effects from consistently practicing positive thoughts, believing in myself, and visualizing, I feel like it is time to write about it. For the last two weeks, I have been consistently dreaming about Washington, D.C. In my dreams, the details are not 100% clear; it has that weird dream effect where you know what is trying to be interpreted, but it is not completely accurate.
I have never dreamt about this city in this way; this would be my first time dreaming and remembering vividly. For me, when I can remember a dream, I know that there is meaning to it. I feel as though I accomplished the goal of “tricking” my subconscious mind in manifesting me moving so much that it is now showing up in my dreams. One of the things that I also do to help aid in manifesting is while I’m writing, I have a split screen with a YouTube video playing of people driving in Washington, D.C. My headphones are on, so I’m hearing all of the city sounds along with the visuals while getting some “work” done. It helps me stay focused, oddly, and I constantly remind myself what I am working towards.
Since I started clubbing in the city at the ripe age of 18/19 I’ve always been drawn to Washington. It is a beautiful city with a lot to offer, and it is full of history. I attempted to purchase my first home in the city, but because I wasn’t patient, I ended up in Baltimore. That’s a story for another day. Now, fast forward to 2026, and I am ready to make D.C. my home.
Beyond it being a walkable city and a great location, I feel as though there is something else drawing me there. I found out that my grandmother was born in the city and later moved to VA. A few weeks ago, I had a reading with a psychic medium, and she confirmed that I would, in fact, be moving to the city. She stated that my ancestors, two specific people, were telling her what to say to reassure me that I am on the right path. She did not know anything before, and the info she said was right on point and only thoughts I would have known. It was a mind-blowing experience, and it helped solidify that my move was happening.
Delusion
. For this to work, you have to get full-on delusional with yourself. If you are not a naturally optimistic person, then delusion will be the only way to “trick” your brain. Your brain has been wired to rely on external forces and live in survival mode. Creativity will have to be explored in order for this to be effective.
As I mentioned earlier, I like watching those driving videos that you can find on YouTube; my obvious choice in location is Washington. Whenever I am writing a blog post or anything related to The Cosmic Radar brand, I will always have this type of video on. My goal is to live in the city full-time, and this is my career. When I’m writing and hearing the city sounds, I imagine that I am working at my neighborhood coffee shop, finishing up an article. The videos are point of view, so it looks like I am driving. Sometimes I like to imagine that I am driving home while watching these visuals. It sounds crazy, but based on my dreams, I think it is working.
Almost a year ago, I wrote out a detailed plan (in a physical book) of my plans and the life that I wanted to live in D.C. I added so much detail to it that if someone found that book, they would think it was someone’s real life. That book is tucked away in storage, but I have a Cliff Notes version that I like to read when I feel like I am losing the vision. This should actually be the first thing you do: block out some time and really take the time to physically write out the life you want as if you are already living it.
Daydreaming is a skill that I have mastered since I was young. Some people like to refer to it as maladaptive daydreaming. Driving has become meditative for me. I drive long distances every day, and there is nothing else to do but think. Instead of thinking about negative things, I use that time to daydream about living my life in the city. I imagine that I am driving and on my way to the city for my new life. Sometimes I have to drive into the city, so that makes the dream more realistic. I’ll do anything to convince my mind that what I’m thinking about is real.
D.C. is an expensive city in which to live comfortably. There are beautiful historic homes that have that old charm with a modern touch. All of those homes come at a hefty price tag that easily starts at $1,000,000. To continue to feed my delusion, I frequently browse homes for sale and favorite the ones I love and can see myself living in. I’ve created a budget and everything that I want in my own city. I do not go outside of the standards or the budget that I created. It sounds crazy as hell, BUT if I go off script and glance at anything under the criteria, it feels strange. Even though I couldn’t close on a million-dollar home next week (not yet, at least), my brain is convinced otherwise. And I keep it this way until my reality matches my thoughts.
There’s a certain car that I want to buy that I’d like to consider my dream car, and ever since I’ve added this to my new life plan, I see this car EVERYWHERE. One time, I saw it being charged at this place that I frequent. It was the exact color and options that I would look at online. I was freaked out when that happened (but in a good way).
I could go on about the other ways that I get delusions, but I think you may get the point. Do what you have to do to help make your brain think it is real! When that moment happens, you will instantly know that all of your delusions worked. Lastly, don’t get caught up in the world’s things, whatever you want. You also have to embody the person who would have the things you want. Let your daily habits and persona match whatever you are striving for. The inner will always reflect the outer!
Self Belief
If you don’t believe in yourself, none of this will work.
If you don’t love yourself, none of this will work.
If you don’t trust yourself, none of this will work.
The key to unlocking in this lifetime is believing that you can go out there and get whatever your soul desires. If you don’t believe in yourself, get to the source of why you don’t before you manifest anything. We see time and time again how the inner demons always end up overpowering whatever was physically manifested. If you are not okay on the inside, you will never know peace, and nothing materialistic will ever fill the void.
Start small. Find small reasons that help you believe in yourself again. Start with things that are too easy to fail. Write a few sentences, take a five-minute walk, or even drink a glass of water. If you create a small list and make it a goal that you will complete each task every day, your belief in yourself will grow.
While in the rebuilding stage, make sure you keep your expectations low. And this is the only acceptable time to have low standards. The goal is for your tasks to be complete, not perfect. You don’t want to impress yourself; you want to show yourself you can be consistent. Lastly, focus on the effort and not the outcome.
Keep track of all your completed actions and make sure your list is visible, showing your tasks finished, days you showed up, and decisions you followed through on. Your brain won’t be able to argue with the proof. Don’t over-negotiate with yourself; be firm and act quickly so there is not enough room for doubt to slip in.
If you stay consistent with working towards a strong belief system, you will become a confident person in no time. It will be so natural to you, you won’t believe that you had issues in the first place!
Positive Thoughts & Visualization
You want to maintain a handy list of positive thoughts you can quickly reference, because if you are not wired to think all the time positively, your brain will be ready to counter every positive thought with a cringe or negative memory. After consistently keeping my thoughts positive, NO MATTER WHAT, my brain eventually gave up and amplified the positivity. So instead of my brain trying to replace positive thoughts with negative thoughts, it did the opposite and switched, which ended up amplifying my mood 24/7.
Affirmations are another good tool to use to help you on the journey of trusting yourself again. No matter what you use, the key is to stay consistent in regaining self
Final thoughts.
You have to go within to get to the bottom of your pain. Once you do the shadow work, everything else will then start to become fun.
Quick Recap
- Be delusional with yourself; nothing is too big for the universe.
- Work towards believing in yourself and trusting that you will never steer yourself into a bad situation.
- Maintain positive self-talk along with visualizations.
Do whatever you have to do to get yourself aligned with the best version of yourself. We are all here for a limited time, and it is better to live a purpose-filled life than a life full of regrets. Get out there and experience the beautiful wonders of this world!
