Rediscovering My Inner Child: A Journey to Creativity

As I've embarked on this creative journey of writing and following my dreams, I've made a surprising discovery: my creativity flows directly from my inner child. This realization has not only transformed my approach to creativity but has also rekindled a part of myself I thought I'd lost. Let me share this journey with you.

While experimenting and exploring as an adult, I couldn't help but feel like a kid again. Then it hit me - my inner child never left; she was just waiting for me to recognize her. When I'm in tune with her, I feel invincible, like I can take on the world and accomplish any task I set my mind to.

This newfound connection made me wonder: how and why did I lose touch with that side of myself in the first place? The answer, simply put, is life. We all face events that can make or break our spirit, especially if our environment isn't ideal for a child. How can a child protect their pure spirit without the right support system? It's a question I'm still grappling with. But I believe in our resilience as humans, guided by forces beyond our understanding, doing what's best for us in any situation.

Everyone goes through phases where they lose themselves, either completely or partially. Our society is full of negative, lower-vibrational forces that can really test us. The key is finding yourself again after the storm passes. It's about picking up the pieces and slowly rebuilding. Never give up or lose faith in yourself.

So, how did I reconnect with my inner child? I started by journaling, pouring out all my issues and unhappiness. I reflected on the choices that led me to where I was. After this deep dive, I felt lighter over the next few weeks. Once I released my raw thoughts, I stopped overthinking what was bothering me. This mental decluttering freed up space for creativity to flow.

As the mental chatter quieted, I found myself confronting boredom. This led me to reminisce about what interested me as a child. I realized most of it involved using my imagination:

  1. Playing with Barbie dolls for hours, creating elaborate scenes and stories.
  2. Acting out scenarios with Baby Born dolls alongside my sister - we'd take our "babies" to doctor's appointments, restaurants, and daycare, all from the confines of our dad's parked van.
  3. As I got older, my focus shifted to The Sims, where I could create and control entire virtual lives.

Through this reflection, I had an epiphany: as an adult, I love the art of storytelling. I enjoy creating stories and challenging myself to push the boundaries of my creativity with each word.

This journey of self-discovery led me to understand what truly ignites my passion - what my inner child has been trying to tell me all along. We're finally on the same page, and I'm thrilled to embark on this new chapter, exploring where our shared creativity will take us.

Reconnecting with my inner child hasn't just reignited my creativity; it's changed how I approach life. I find myself more open to play, more willing to take risks, and more in touch with the simple joys that once defined my world. This inner child connection has become my secret weapon in navigating the often challenging world of adult creativity.

As I continue on this path, I invite you to consider your own inner child. What dreams and passions have you left behind? What creativity lies dormant within you, waiting to be awakened? Remember, it's never too late to reconnect with that part of yourself. Who knows what amazing creations might emerge when you do?
